For me the best time of the year is Christmas. I love the atmosphere, the decorations, trees, and lights everywhere. It makes me feel warm and joyful. However, I did not know there was a story behind the Christmas lights. I thought it is just for decoration. My friend and American mother  Christine told me that the light symbolizes Christ. He was born in a darkest time of the year in December to lighten the world and the people life.  I learned a lot about Christmas and Christ from Christine. On the other hand, I want to share with you what the Muslims believed about Christ and his mother the virgin. It is not a religious discussion. It is Christmas and I want to say  Merry Christmas.

-In Quran states that Jesus was created when God (Allah) breathed on Mary while her body was chaste.

– Muslims see Jesus as a prophet and messenger or a word of god but not god or son of god.

-The majority of Muslims believes that Jesus was not killed but saved by God and raised to heaven and will return at the end of time as a Savior to save people from injustice and spread love and peace in the earth.

-He has have performed many miracles.

-There were 12 Apostles with Jesus.

-Precursor to Muhammad.

-Christ and virgin Mary are reverend in Islam.

-Many Muslims name their children after Jesus (Arabic: عيسى,Isa) and Mary (Arabic: مريم, Maryam).

-Marry is one of the most important and righteous women in Islam. She is mentioned in the Quran frequently.

-She is the only woman mentioned by name in the Quran, and one surah or chapter in the Quran is named after her.

-Muslim women take the Virgin Mary as an example and a symbol of purity and obedience to God’s command.

The Quran states:

Behold! The angels said: “O Mary! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee- chosen thee above the women of all nations.

—Quran, sura 3 (Al Imran), ayah 42.
